Rowing News

I had my first experience on the water in a rowing boat in 2011, when my Great Uncle John took me out in a ‘tinnie’ to catch Yabbies on his farm in Molesworth, Victoria. It was such an adventure I wanted to continue my experiences on the water.

This was one of the motivating factors inspiring me to apply for a Yr 7 position at MGC, where there was a rowing programme. No-one in my family has participated in rowing, but with the exceptional support and guidance of the coaches, and the dedication of all my crews we have all achieved our full potential.

My dreams have included competing at HoSG and the National Championship with my MGC crew, where we achieved remarkable results considering the limits from Covid Restrictions in our State.

Thanks to the encouragement of my MGC, Mercantile and State Coaches I have achieved selection for the Australian Under 19 Women’s 8, and will be competing in Italy in at the World Championships. Our first race will be Thursday 28 July 6.25pm AEST if you would like to tune in, the competition is fierce!
