Michael Lowe Honoured

Michael Lowe (SVC 1989-84) commenced as the Executive Director of SES Tasmania in November 2022. His appointment to this position follows on from his 24 years in the Australian Army where he rose to the rank of Colonel. 

In the 2023 King’s Birthday Awards Michael was the recipient of a Commenation for Distinguished Service (CDS) - for distinguished performance of duties in warlike operations as the Director of Future Operations for Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, on Operation OKRA, from July 2021 to May 2022. Leading a diverse and multi-national team, in a highly complex and dynamic mission environment, producing coherent and analysed options for execution, Colonel Lowe displayed distinguished leadership, initiative and performance within the headquarters of the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, in the defeat of Da'esh within Iraq and Syria.

Michael is the second son of former Premier, Doug Lowe (SVC 1950-59) and younger brother of Greg (SVC 1977-81).
