Athletics Carnival Years 3-6

We are pleased to announce the success of the Gilgai Plains Athletics Carnival held on Friday 16th of June at Meadowglen International Athletics Stadium. It was a wonderful event and all of the Year 3 to 6’s had an amazing time. It was a great way for them to showcase their athletic abilities and to put their best foot forward on the track/field after spending time learning these skills during PE lessons this term.

The students tried extremely hard and we were thrilled to see them giving it their all. They cheered on their respective house, which provided an extra boost of motivation and enthusiasm for everyone involved. They Year 3-6’s competed in a range of events, which included the 100m sprint, 800m race, Javelin, Discus, Shot Put, Long Jump and Triple Jump.

The house groups, Mabo, Goolagong, Namatjira, and Freeman, all competed with admirable sportsmanship and effort. It was incredible to see our students dressed up and supporting their teams on the day. There was great team spirit on display throughout the day and we will be revealing the winning house at Friday's Assembly.

We would like to extend a big thank you to the community for showing their support. Your involvement contributes greatly to the success of events such as these, and your continued support is greatly appreciated. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Hend Ahmed, who volunteered on the day and helped out with the running of some events. It's great to have volunteers helping on the day as it helps the events run smoothly.

Overall, the Gilgai Plains Athletics Carnival was a huge success. It was a memorable day for everyone involved and we look forward to next year’s event with great anticipation.
