There has been lots happening in the Kilbreda sporting world with tennis and cricket trials and training all taking place at various times. Well done to all girls who have tried out for all of these teams and good luck to the girls who will represent the College over the next two weeks. We will post results and photos in the next newsletter.
Upcoming events include SCSA Tennis on Thursday 11 March and SCSA Indoor Cricket on Tuesday 16 March.
The House Swimming Carnival will be held on Monday March 22 at Oakleigh Pool. We are looking forward to celebrating our first House Carnival in over 12 months!
The SCSA Swimming and Diving teams have been selected and we congratulate the girls who have been attending early morning training in preparation for this. We look forward to a great team effort at the SCSA carnival on Thursday 25 March.
Over the next few newsletters we will introduce you to the House Leaders for this year.
Jacqui Isles
Kildare House Leader
I am so proud to be a Kildare House Leader this year! I play in numerous netball teams outside of school aspiring to be a professional player and playing since I was 8! I've participated in many school sports teams over the years such as athletics, swimming, badminton, softball, netball, and have enjoyed every moment of it, aiming to achieve the same consensus for my House members this year and bring victory to the House Carnivals.
Grace Turner

I play netball and football outside of school, and have loved participating in many of the school sport teams over the years, such as netball, football, volleyball and soccer, along with running events like the Netball Tournament and the SCSA Softball. I can’t wait to participate in the upcoming events this year, like the House Swimming and the House Athletics carnivals!

It is a privilege to be announced as a Brigid House Leader this year and be given the opportunity to work with my peers to engage and encourage the College community in House activities. Throughout my schooling at Kilbreda I have participated in many school sports like football, tennis, soccer and netball and have loved trying new things and meeting new people along the way. This year is going to be great and there are exciting things coming. I can't wait!

Throughout my time at the College I have participated in a wide range of sporting events such as volleyball, netball, badminton, athletics, softball, and soccer. I have enjoyed taking up the opportunity to try new sports and join in all the fun. Can't wait for the year ahead and I hope to bring Delany to victory!!
The following students have been participating in the AFL Umpiring Course over the last two weeks: Sian Francis, Jacinta Crowley, Shelby Christopher, Elizabeth Pound, Elke Madlener, Ewa Slifierz and Helena Slifierz.
In the first week they looked at all of the skills relating to Boundary Umpiring with numerous 'throw ins' from the boundary line and whistle blowing to indicate “out of bounds'' and “on the full”.
This week the group covered Field Umpiring decisions: holding the person, kicking in danger, tripping, dropping the ball, throwing the ball and how to do the centre bounce.
The girls are becoming more confident at blowing their whistles!
