Welcome Morning Tea

We would like to invite all of our Foundation Parents to come to a morning tea to get to know each other on Wednesday March 23rd at 9am. We will set up around the foyer of the Stadium so please come and join us and make new connections.

Safety in and around the school

Getting safely to and from school is of the utmost importance to us all. Our families chose to walk, wheel or drive to school. No matter how we get to and from school we all  want to drop off and pickup our children safely. As a community we share the road and footpaths. It is vital that cars follow the speed limit. It is also important to support those who ride to school and keep them safe.  Under current Victoria law cars need to provide 1m clearance when overtaking cyclists under 60kmh, and 1.5m over 60kmh. A number of our students and families ride to school, they will be extremely aware of their own safety, often leaving space between them and parked cars to make sure if doors are opened they are not hit.

Next week we celebrate Ride to School Day on Friday March 25th. We look forward to lots of students and families riding to school. We are all responsible for the safety of those who use our roads and footpaths.

JSC fundraiser

Don't forget free dress day is on Monday March 21st. JSC are asking students to dress in the colours of the Ukraine flag - blue and yellow. See their page for more details.

Class reps

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to be a Class Rep for 2022.

We are holding a Class Rep meeting at school on Thursday March 24th at 7pm.

If you would like to get involved in the school, learn about volunteer opportunities then please come along and join us.

One of the main volunteer opportunities is to support the Mother's Day and Father's Day stalls (see the next item).

This year we hope to explore the establishment of a Parent Group who meet regularly and identify ways to volunteer and support the school.

Mother's Day and Father's Day stall

Mother's Day and Father's Day stall coordinators are needed for 2023. Our very experienced coordinators Pia and Nancy will be running their last Mother's Day and Father's Day stalls in 2022, with both having their last child in Year 6 this year.

They would love to have a couple of volunteers shadow them this year so they can learn how we put these great events together for our students and families. Nancy and Pia will also be seeking volunteers to assist with running the stalls this year.

School Council AGM

We are holding our Annual General Meeting of our School Council this coming Wednesday March 23rd at 7pm. This meeting will be followed by the first meeting of our new School Council.

The shop is open each Tuesday morning from 8.30am to 10.30am.

A reminder this is a cashless shop.

Parents need to sign in using the iPad at the uniform shop and show proof of vaccination (as per Department requirement when people are inside the buildings).

Education Week in 2022

We have started planning our Education Week celebrations, including our Open Day.

Our Junior School Concert is also being held on Wednesday  May 25th.

It will be an exciting week to share our school with prospective new families and our own community.

We look forward to our Year 6 leaders supporting us with Open Day and tours throughout this week.
