"What's going on in the Art Room?" I hear you ask.
Well, all levels have completed their self portraits and we have moved onto some new and exciting pieces.
- Preps are exploring Colour Theory and creating some artworks to solidify their learning.
- Grade 1s are exploring a range of watercolour paints and pencil techniques to create some cute bunnies.
- Grade 2s have looked at the work of contemporary Irish artist Quinn Russell and used oil pastels to create texture in their crawings of hares.
- Grade 3s learnt about Ancient Egypt and how adornment and riches played a significant part in this civilization before using embossing techniques to make their dazzling artworks.
- Grade 4s have begun an extensive unit of work with the art of Okuda San Miguel as inspiration. He aims to bring hope and inspiration to communities through his vibrant murals and installations. Exploration of the Elements of Art is the focus for their creations.
- Grade 5s have almost completed their Steam punk paintings which are looking fabulous.
- Grade 6s are about to begin a contruction unit starting with exploring different ways of joining cardboard to ensure stable artworks in the long term.
