Big Thank You

Thank you to all students for your wonderful effort in bringing the Indonesian Room to life—filling it with rich language, knowledge, and cultural elements. Each of you has made a meaningful contribution to enriching and strengthening your Indonesian learning.

Preps

The Prep students have begun learning Indonesian vocabulary in alphabetical order, starting with the letters ‘A’ and ‘B’. For example, some ‘A’ words include angklung (a bamboo instrument), anggrek (orchid), and anak (child). They have shown great effort in carefully colouring the pictures and practising the pronunciation of each word. Keep up the great work, Preps!

Students in Years 1 to 6 have been learning about an Indonesian native animal, the Komodo dragon, over the past few weeks. They began by watching a YouTube video and reading a short article about “Ora,” a type of Komodo dragon. In the following lesson, they designed their own Komodo dragons using either the merobek (tearing) or meremas (scrunching) technique. Many students produced fantastic work. Bagus sekali, anak-anak!

During Planning Week, students in Grades 2 to 6 had the opportunity to try one of Indonesia’s most popular sports—badminton. They all did a fantastic job learning how to hold the racket, practising basic techniques, and showing great focus while hitting the bulu tangkis (shuttlecock). You are all amazing!
