It was wonderful to connect with so many of our families during this week's Parent Teacher Interviews. These conversations provide a valuable opportunity for teachers, parents and carers to celebrate student achievements, discuss learning progress and work together to set meaningful goals for future growth. They also help teachers gain a deeper understanding of each child, strengthening the important partnership between home and school. We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful support shown by our school community during this week's Scholastic Book Fair. It was fantastic to see so many students and families enjoying the opportunity to browse and purchase books, helping to foster a love of reading across our Primary School. Thanks to your generosity, total sales reached an impressive $6,008.80. The commission earned from the Book Fair will be distributed across our Primary classrooms, providing valuable resources to further enhance and grow classroom library collections for all students to enjoy. This investment in our learning spaces will continue to inspire reading, curiosity and a lifelong love of literature.

A special thank you is extended to Meagan Height, the team of specialist teachers and registered parent volunteers for their outstanding organisation, preparation and support throughout the week. From setting up the displays to assisting families and ensuring the fair ran smoothly, their time, energy and commitment were truly appreciated. Events such as these are only possible because of the generosity and dedication of our volunteers. Due to the popularity of many titles and products, several items sold out and have been reordered. These additional purchases will be distributed to students as soon as they arrive at the School.

Year 5/6 Girls Shine at Campaspe Footy Carnival!

What a fantastic day the select group of Year 5 and Year 6 girls had at the Campaspe Footy Carnival. After a chilly, foggy start, the sunshine arrived, and so did the girls. Although they were well beaten by the eventual champions in the opening round, they showed incredible resilience, bounced back in style and won three of their remaining four matches. As the day went on, the team grew in confidence and really began to gel. Their ball movement became quicker, their pressure on the opposition was relentless and their skills across the ground continued to improve with every game. Most importantly, they played with smiles on their faces and a genuine love for the game.

Even better than the results was the way the girls represented our School. From the very first ball up to the final siren, they demonstrated our core values of Compassion, Respect and Integrity. They encouraged one another, celebrated each other's successes and never let things like umpiring decisions or the scoreboard distract them from enjoying the experience. The girls should be incredibly proud of the way they competed, supported each other and embraced every challenge throughout the day. We certainly could not be prouder of their effort, attitude and sportsmanship.

Student Achievement

Moama Anglican Grammar proudly competed in the Gymnastics Victoria AeroSchools Championships for the first time on 30 July at Narrandjeri Stadium, Thornbury. Congratulations to Mayli Coburn and Bella Michael, who placed 4th in Division D, and Addison Coburn and Eva Michael, who placed 5th in Division C. Competing against more than 20 schools from across Victoria and NSW, both pairs achieved outstanding results and have qualified for the AeroSchools National Championships in Queensland this September. We wish the girls all the best as they prepare to represent Moama Anglican Grammar on the national stage.

Further congratulations to Addison Coburn on another outstanding achievement. Following her recent success in being crowned Victorian State Champion and winning the bronze medal in the Under 13 International Tumbling event at the Australian Gymnastics Championships, Addison has now been selected to attend the National Training Camp on the Gold Coast this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop her skills alongside some of the nation's top young gymnasts. We wish Addison every success as she continues this exciting journey.

Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart has officially kicked off this term at Moama Anglican Grammar! This fun and active program, run by the Heart Foundation, encourages all Primary students to stay healthy, learn new skipping skills and raise funds for life-saving heart research.

This year, our Year 5 students are proudly leading the initiative, with the goal of inspiring the whole Primary School to get involved. Together, we are aiming to collectively raise $8,000. So far, our Primary School community has raised an incredible $7,313. Primary Assembly

Primary students and families enjoyed a wonderful start to Term 3 at our Assembly, expertly led by Martin House Captains Alex Melville and Cleo Guinan. Students were entertained by impressive musical performances from Sophie McKee, Chalmers-Lee Caldwell, and the duo of Archie Flannigan and Paddy Nicholls. We also enjoyed hearing from Cleo Guinan who shared her experience participating in the Lions Public Speaking Competition. Her reflections highlighted the importance of confidence, creativity and developing strong communication skills. 

A special highlight was the Year 1 presentation, where students proudly shared their learning from their History Unit, My Community. Their enthusiasm and understanding of the many communities that contribute to life in Echuca-Moama was a delight to see. Students learned about exciting Term 3 opportunities, including the new Remote-Control Car Club, Jump Rope for Heart, and a range of Co-Curricular activities and upcoming events. Thank you to all students, staff and families who contributed to making the Assembly such a special celebration of learning, leadership and talent.

Congratulations to the students listed below who were recognised with a Core Value Award for consistently demonstrating our School’s Core Values while embodying our motto, Honour and Excellence. We are incredibly proud of your achievements and the positive example you set for others. Keep up the outstanding work!

Stage 3 Assembly

On Wednesday 22 July, Stage 3 students came together for their assembly, which was hosted by Alfred Williams and Kai Taylor in Year 6B. Libby presented the Acknowledgement of Country, and Kai led the opening prayer before Mr Ward shared several important messages with students, encouraging everyone to continue demonstrating leadership, independence and respect throughout Term 3. Students were also reminded about uniform expectations with the cold weather and the upcoming Year 5 camp.

The assembly also celebrated a range of exciting student achievements and ongoing opportunities. Dash and Lachy spoke about Jump Rope for Heart, while Violet and Chalmers-Lee shared information about the upcoming Mary Poppins Jr. production. Shriya and Hamish spoke about Tournament of the Minds, and a Stage 3 Pastoral Care project was shared. The assembly concluded with Mr Ward presenting the Stage 3 Certificates, recognising students for their outstanding effort and achievement. Overall, it was a fantastic assembly that celebrated the many accomplishments, opportunities and positive contributions of students across Stage 3.

Stage 1 Assembly

The Stage 1 Assembly, held on Wednesday 29 July was a joyful celebration of student achievement and performance. Students in Year 1A and Mr Moon hosted a polished and engaging Stage 1 Assembly, delighting everyone with an interactive version of the Year 1 ‘Bossy e song’ from InitiaLit that had the crowd joining in with many smiles and laughs. The students were confident, professional, and clearly proud to share their learning with the Stage 1 community. A favourite moment was presenting Mr Moon’s Dad jokes, which sparked plenty of laughter across the downball court. 

A highlight of the assembly was the celebration of many award recipients, recognised as the first Stage 1 Superstars for Term 3! The students were proud of their achievements, and the audience responded warmly to each announcement. Congratulations to the students in Year 1A for their excellent efforts in hosting and contributing to such a successful assembly.
