Principal's Welcome

Sarah Rose, Principal

What a great couple of weeks it’s been. The energy, enthusiasm, and sense of connection across the school community has been so positive.

Our Swimming Carnival was once again a highlight – full of colour, cheers and friendly competitions. Though the storm rolled in as expected, it didn’t dampen spirits and it was fantastic to see so many students participating and supporting their houses with pride.

We are looking forward to our Family Kitchen Workshops, which are now fully subscribed. After such success in 2025, we’re excited to introduce our dumpling making to a new group of families this year. These events are such a lovely way to bring our community together around food, fun, and school and family connections.

We’ve held several Parent Information Evenings for Year 7, Year 9 RAID, and our Senior School. Each of these were well attended and I want to take a moment to thank our staff for their preparation and expertise, and our families for their engagement and support. These evenings are such valuable opportunities to stay connected and informed about learning pathways, programs and supports across the school.

At our Whole School Assembly, we continued the lovely tradition of formally welcoming our new Year 7 students. It’s always a special moment to see our newest members step forward as part of the wider college community.

Continuing in Year 7 news, our Year 7 camp at Roses Gap was another highlight — a wonderful few days where students got to know each other and their teachers in a relaxed and supportive environment. The sense of teamwork and friendship that developed will serve them well as they settle into secondary school life.

I’d like to acknowledge the success of the changes implemented at the end of 2025 to canteen access, and thank students for being so willing to adapt to the changes. The new flow of foot traffic has made a huge difference in creating a calmer and quicker service for students. A reminder that mobile phones are not to be used for purchases – please continue using cash, card or the Flexischools app to pre-order.

Finally, a note on uniform: with our updated uniform policy, students no longer need logoed items for uniform shorts or pants; however, these must be plain, fully navy blue with no prints or patterns. We appreciate your continued support in maintaining a sense of pride in our school community through uniform.

Kind Regards,

Sarah Rose
