School Council

Dear Parents and Carers,
Following the recent communication from our Principal regarding the Victorian Government’s funding announcement for the refurbishment of the Art Room facilities, I would like to provide a brief update from School Council.
School Council is pleased to acknowledge the significant Government funding secured for the Art Room refurbishment, which is a very positive outcome for our school community and will support improved learning environments for our children. We also look forward to the next milestone in the school’s ongoing redevelopment, including the planned demolition of the former building, which will open up the school grounds and create opportunities for future improvements.
In addition to supporting these important milestones, School Council has continued its role in advocating for the school’s longer‑term redevelopment needs. This has included writing to the Minister for Education and the Treasurer, and meeting with our local Member of Parliament to discuss pathways for securing future funding through candidates in the upcoming Victorian State Election.
While funding for the next major stage of the school’s master plan was not included in this year’s State Budget, School Council remains committed to continuing to lobby and advocate for future investment in Heathmont East Primary School. Representing the long‑term interests of our children, staff and wider school community will remain a key focus for School Council as the election approaches.
On behalf of the school council thank you for your continued support of Heathmont East Primary School.
Kind regards,
Matt McKean
School Council President
Heathmont East Primary School
