STEAM News
There has been so much thinking, problem solving and creativity happening in STEAM this term.
Foundation
Foundation students have been learning about push and pull forces. We were lucky to have a Billy cart incursion which provided our students with an opportunity to engineer Billy carts and apply their understanding of Push and Pull forces to a range of activities. Students have since applied this learning to a range of exploration and building tasks.
Grade 1
Grade 1 are currently exploring space and LEGO we-do robotics. Students are working in collaborative groups to create Milo the space rover, exploring sensors and coding the robots to perform a range of movements
Grade 2
Students are creating mazes using Scratch junior. Through the use of block coding students are adding sprites and coding them to perform a range of actions.
Grade 3 and 4
Students are exploring conductors, insulators, and states of matter. Student have designed and engineered solar ovens and we are all looking forward to cooking smores throughout the next two weeks.
Grade 5 and 6
Students have followed the scientific process to conduct an experimental research project. Throughout the process students have hypothesised, conducted experiments, recorded and analysed data and formed a conclusion.
