Level 2 

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mum's and special people. Thank you to everyone who attended our Mother's Day open morning last Thursday and completed a special task with your children. The students were very excited to share their classroom and learning with their loved ones!

Numeracy

For the last two weeks, the Level 2 students have been learning about money. They have explored the different notes and coins that we use in Australia, as well as practising adding them in different ways to create a total amount of money. Our students are building familiarity with how 100 cents adds up to a dollar, and what will happen when you add or subtract cents to find the total amount.

Writing

The Level 2 students have begun work on our narrative writing unit. They have practised writing engaging descriptions and bold beginnings to ensure that our stories are interesting and detailed. They have identified the elements of stories such as characters, settings, problems and solutions, using this knowledge to plan their own narrative to write. The students are producing interesting and engaging texts that draw in and hold the reader's attention.

Reading

In Reading, the students have practised their ability to summarise their reading by identifying the most important information. They have sorted information as being more or less important to the overall story. They have identified the main ideas and lessons from texts. They have also explored the importance of pictures in assessing our understanding of what we have read.
