Lions Youth of the Year

Congratulations to Sarah (Year 12) who was recently announced as the Brisbane Inner North Regional winner of Lions Youth of the Year program. 

The Lions Youth of the Year program has a proud history in encouraging and fostering leadership skills in Australian students approaching the end of their high school years.

By emphasising qualities like contribution to the community and school, public speaking, academic skills, sporting and cultural involvement, Youth of the Year aims to bring forth the next generation of outstanding young Australians.

Sarah delivered a prepared speech following by impromptu speeches based on topics relating to current affairs to secure the top position in the region.

Sarah will now go on to represent herself and Mt A at the District Finals in the school holidays. We wish her luck and know she will compete with pride and humility.

To recognise this wonderful achievement, staff and peers were asked to provide one word that describes Sarah, as featured in the below image.
