School Council Update

Dear PHSC School Community

It has already been a busy and productive first term, and School Council is delighted to share a few highlights from the past weeks:

School Council Elections: We recently held School Council elections and welcome both new and returning elected members from the parent, staff, and student groups. Congratulations to everyone who was elected, and thank you for volunteering your time to support our school. For parents and guardians who enjoy working bees, managing ledgers, organising events, or shaping education policies, consider joining one of our School Council Committees. You don’t need to be an elected School Council member to get involved in a committee; the front office can guide you in the right direction.

Fun(d)raising: Our delicious Hot Cross Bun Fun(d)raiser was a success! Many thanks to Bakers Delight in Clifton Hill for their support and to everyone in the school community who participated. The front office team deserves special thanks for coordinating the distribution of nearly 150 six-packs of yeasty goodness. Your support helps us raise funds for school initiatives (this year, we are raising funds for the school’s wellbeing program). There are a few upcoming fun(d)raising events, such as a Movie Night and a Trivia Night, planned for later in the year, so keep an eye out for dates and details. If you’d like to help organise, volunteer on the night, or get involved in some other way, we’d love to hear from you (contact Francisca on 0403 800 747).

PHSC Strategic Review: We recently completed the school's strategic review, a process that guides the school’s priorities over the next 4 years. The review was led by a team comprising the school leadership team, a Department of Education delegate, the School Council president, and three experienced principals from other government schools (Albert Park College, Mac. Robertson Girls’ High School, and Ringwood Secondary College). The team took time to thoroughly assess the school and developed goals and actions for our next strategic plan. A sincere thank you to all staff, students, parents, and guardians who participated in round tables, surveys, and discussions. Your insights were invaluable and deeply appreciated.

Ways to get involved: During the review process, some parents and guardians expressed interest in becoming more involved in school life. The table below outlines a range of opportunities for engagement where your contribution could make a meaningful difference:
