Senior School Reflection

Senior school reflection term 1

Year 12 student leadership has been busy this term, running a range of things in order to raise money for the Year 12 formal. At the start of the year, Year 12 Leadership ran the bake sale stall at the swimming carnival which went swimmingly. Then at the Twilight market, the leadership team put together a part easter chocolate sale, part bake sale to close out term 1.Under Bianca Carr’s amazing organization, the Year 12 Leadership group has big plans for term 2's Athletics carnival and the planning of the formal.

The Year 12 Leadership group would like to thank everyone for the chocolate donations and support put towards raising money for the formal.

Term 1 has been an incredibly positive and productive start for our Year 11 cohort. Students have approached this new stage of their senior school journey with enthusiasm and determination, setting a strong foundation for the year ahead. It has been particularly encouraging to see so many students embracing the challenge demonstrating a genuine commitment to their learning.

Beyond the classroom, the cohort has made outstanding contributions through their enthusiastic involvement in events such as the Senior Sports Days, Twilight Concert, and a range of subject excursions. This strong and engaged start positions the cohort well to continue building momentum, growing in confidence, and achieving success both academically and personally throughout the year.

Congratulations to our Year 10 students on a fantastic start to the year and a warm welcome into the senior school. It has been especially pleasing to see the noticeable improvements in both engagement and attendance, which have not gone unnoticed. This positive approach has set a strong tone for the year ahead.

One of the highlights of the term for many students was their involvement in the Year 7 camp. Our Year 10 students represented themselves and the college with pride, acting as supportive mentors and positive role models. Their willingness to step up, assist others, and contribute to the camp experience was impressive. Many students also developed their leadership skills, particularly in building confidence when speaking to larger groups and taking initiative in unfamiliar situations.

As part of their transition into senior school, students have also begun exploring future pathways, including work experience opportunities. This is an important step in helping them better understand their interests and potential career directions. Students are encouraged to begin organising their work experience early so they are well-prepared for it at the end of term 2.

The Year 11 Business Management $20 Boss Mini Market Day was a fantastic success! A sincere thank you to all staff who took the time to support our young entrepreneurs, your encouragement made a real difference. The students did an amazing job showcasing their creativity, initiative, and business skills, and conducted themselves with a high level of professionalism throughout the event. Many stalls completely sold out of their products, which is a testament to the hard work and effort students put into planning and running their businesses. Well done to everyone involved!
