Principals Report

Sunrise from the summit of Mt Buller 7 Camp 2026

Term 1 2026 began very successfully with our new Year 7 cohort settling in well and the behind-the-scenes operational complexity of timetabling, staffing and program organisation remarkably well managed. It was a particularly busy term for us with our 4 -yearly Department School Review conducted in March.

The Review Panel was led by the highly respected past Principal of Ringwood High, Michael Phillips with challenge partners Sue Harrap principal at Mac.Robertson Girls High and Steve Cook foundation principal at Albert Park College. Our School Council President Francisca Hoffmann Axthelm also participated actively in the two days of the review along with other school staff. The review examined the various Department data sets that relate to student achievement, engagement and wellbeing, visited classrooms and heard directly from students, staff and parents in focus groups. the school was praised by the reviewer for its impressive student outcomes across academic achievement, wellbeing and engagement. As we seek to improve the outcomes and lived experience for our young people, the review significantly informs the development of our new Strategic Plan through to 2030 - a plan that will be approved by the Department during term 2.

Term 1 also saw the election of new school councillors, and I welcome and thank all for their commitment to our school.
