Dear Parents, Guardians, and friends of Nazareth
This week, we proudly recognise National Bullying No Way Week and take time to reflect on this year’s theme, ‘Small Acts, Big Impact.’
The theme reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness, inclusion and respect can make a significant difference in the lives of others. A friendly smile, offering support, including someone in a game or conversation, or standing up for a peer are simple actions that help create a positive and caring school community.
As we celebrate Bullying No Way Week, we encourage everyone to consider how their words and actions can contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Each of us plays an important role in minimising the harm caused by bullying.
I urge all students and families to report any concerns about bullying. Students may sometimes ask parents or carers not to report incidents or say anything, however, the longer issues remain unaddressed, the more serious they can become.
The College will respond to all reports of bullying, whether they occur online, over a weekend, or during the school holidays. You can be assured that matters arising outside of school hours often have an impact within the College Community and will be addressed accordingly.
Participation in co curricular and extra curricular activities is a wonderful way for students to build friendships, develop connections, and foster a sense of belonging. When like minded students come together through the wide range of clubs and activities on offer, they have valuable opportunities to form positive and supportive relationships:
E Gaming, Lego Club, Chess, Book in a Day, Teen Chef, Music, Drama,
Digital Arts, Homework Club.
The opportunities to form meaningful connections and friendships are abundant. When a child develops strong friendships, they are more likely to feel a sense of belonging, become actively engaged, and thrive in their schooling.
Let us continue to do what we do best by encouraging one another to embrace the multitude of opportunities available here at Nazareth and to become active, connected members of our Community.
Please remember ‘Small Acts’ will have ‘Big Impact’, especially when you make connections with others.
