WPS Community Children’s Garden

Sincere THANKS to everyone who has helped in the WPS Community Children’s Garden this year. All children who come along to Garden Club on Monday lunchtimes are able to pick whatever produce they wish to take home. I love hearing stories in the street about children proudly providing some of the food for dinner and retelling stories about it.

Garden Produce Sale - Fri 1.30pm

To clear the garden for the holidays, I’m planning a garden produce stall in conjunction with the PFA end of year picnic. Bring along your bags, spare change and grab yourself some healthy, school grown goodies.

Garden Watering Helpers Needed over School Holidays

Although there is an irrigation system in the garden, we need people to sign up to monitoring the garden over the summer holidays. This task involves checking the irrigation system is working, watering the pot plants, a bit of weeding (if you have time) and picking the produce so it does not go to waste. The strawberries are fruiting now, with raspberries and thornless blackberries to ripen soon.

Please contact me to be added to the WPS Children’s Garden Whats app group to link up with others interested in the garden and sign up to helping over the holidays. Alternatively, sign up on the Google docs schedule:

Thank you!
