Year 3 - Middle Unit

As we come to the end of the school year, the Year 3 teaching team would like to sincerely thank all parents and carers for the ongoing support you have provided to your children’s learning throughout the year. A special thank you to those who generously gave their time to support events such as camp and sporting activities, including cross-country. We also greatly appreciate the parents and carers who were able to attend our open afternoons, providing students with the opportunity to proudly showcase their learning and present their knowledge to an audience.
In Mathematics, students have recently been applying their understanding of probability by designing their own board games. These games required players to ‘take a chance’, with outcomes that could either increase their chances of winning or move them backwards on the game board. Students explored a range of probability elements to entice players, including spinners, coin flips, card choices and dice rolls. Once completed, students enjoyed playing each other’s games and providing constructive feedback, reflecting on what worked well and what could be improved. This task was a wonderful opportunity for students to combine creativity, mathematical thinking and collaboration.
We wish all Year 3 students and their families a safe, happy and restful break and thank you once again for a fantastic year.
