Dear Parents and Guardians

Welcome back to Term 4.  We are  already a week and a half  into the last term!!!!!! Please ensure the important dates are in your diary as there is a lot happening this term.

Principal Process

Last week our community was informed of Erin's decision not to return to OLGC due to person reasons. I would like to thank Erin for her contribution to OLGC during her time as principal. The process involved in appointing a new principal will be communicated to parents in the very near future. Please look out for correspondence regarding this process. 

Annabelle Boyhan

This term we welcome Ms. Annabelle Boyhan to OLGC. Annabelle is teaching Yr 3/4.

If you get an opportunity to say "hi" please do so. I know you will make her feel very welcome

Camino

During the school holidays and the first week on this Term 4, I was fortunate to join 23 other principals from the Eastern Network on  a spiritual walk through the north of Spain.  We walked the last 100kms of a 900km pilgrimage following in the step of St James. Our walk concluded in Santiago de Compostela where we celebrated mass at the Cathedral.  This was an amazing experience and one I would recommend to anyone.

Educational Considerations

As we begin planning for the 2025 school year, we are carefully considering our structure and class groupings. In making these decisions, we factor in each child's academic abilities as well as their social and emotional needs. Our goal is to create balanced and supportive learning environments for all students.

If you have any information that you believe would be helpful in shaping these decisions, please feel free to email your request by Friday, 25th October, to bgrace@olgcdeepdene.catholic.edu.ua

Please note that parents do not need to request specific groups of friends for their child. All students will be given the opportunity to list friends they would like to be placed with, and we guarantee that each child will be placed with at least one friend from their list.

I would like to stress these are educational considerations only.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to make the best arrangements for the year ahead.

Congratulations to  Camilla C for being selected to be part of Basketball Victoria’s Future Development Program. This is a great achievement.
