Term Four Mandarin Overview

Foundation, Year One & Two

Term Topic: My Family and Me

The Foundation, Year One and Two students will learn vocabulary and phrases related to family members and orally, introduce their family members to the class in Mandarin. They will also explore Halloween related terms in Mandarin. 

Year Three & Four

Term Topic: Chinese idiom story ‘ horse, horse, tiger, tiger’ and common feelings; Halloween and Christmas

Year Three and Four students will learn a Chinese idiom ‘horse, horse, tiger, tiger’ and focus on Chinese characters including horses and tigers. They will practise how to express common feelings in Chinese. They will explore Halloween and Christmas related words and phrases in Chinese.

Year Five & Six

Term Topic: Countries and nationalities; classroom commands and common feelings; Halloween and Christmas 

Year Five and Six students will learn how to say different countries and nationalities in Chinese. They are going to explore Chinese characters including person and country, and the usage of these two characters. They will practise how to express common feelings and listen to basic classroom commands in Chinese. They will explore Halloween and Christmas related words and phrases in Chinese.
