CELEBRATING OUR STUDENT AUTHORS – SHORELINE VOLUME II NOW AVAILABLE || A special breakfast was held in the MCC this morning to celebrate the launch of Shoreline Volume II, our second published collection of student writing. The book features original works by Beaumaris Secondary College students, showcasing their creativity, insight and passion for storytelling.
We were also delighted to welcomeBSC parent and published author Kerryn Kohl, who shared insights into her own writing journey and offered encouragement to our budding authors.
Congratulations to all contributing authors and to our Communicate & Relate teachers — Sonali Green, Chelsea Salahoras, Travis de Valle and Brendan Cian — for their leadership and support in bringing this project to life.
Copies of Shoreline Volume II are available for purchase from the College Office for $20 (card only).

PREMIERSHIP WINNERS AT YEAR 8 GALA DAY - GIRLS HANDBALL A TEAM! || Today our Year 8 Handball, Lacrosse and Cricket teams competed in a Kingston Division Gala Day, taking on schools from across the region. A HUGE congratulations to our Year 8 Girls Handball A Team on their victory, and well done to all teams for their fantastic effort and sportsmanship! Our Girls Handball B Team finished 3rd, losing only to Beauy A Team! Our Boys Lacrosse team made the final, finishing 2nd in their Gala Day.

2026 BSC COLLEGE PRODUCTION ANNOUNCEMENT || The 2026 BSC Production is… drum roll please… Rock of Ages! This high-energy jukebox musical comedy features iconic 80s rock ’n’ roll hits from Bon Jovi, Journey, Pat Benatar and many more. We can’t wait to bring this show to life in 2026! Students who would like to be involved — on stage or behind the scenes — are encouraged to get in touch with Ms Price, Ms Irvine, Ms O’Malley or Ms Saunders for more details.

FOOD FOR FAMILIES DRIVE || We're thrilled to once again partner with Uniting Vic.Tas
@unitingvictas for the Food for Families drive — an inspiring initiative dedicated to supporting families facing food insecurity. Together, we can make a real difference in our community!
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Donate non-perishable food items, essential items such as personal hygiene and cleaning products and new toys to help brighten the holidays for families in need.
Donations can be dropped off at Reception until Friday, 12 December.

KWONG LEE DOW SCHOLAR || A huge congratulations to Kevin C (Year 10) on his selection for the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program at the University of Melbourne for 2026–2027! Kevin has been chosen from a highly competitive field to join this prestigious academic enrichment program, which supports high achieving students to reach their personal best and prepares them for future university pathways.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE & GIRLS HANDBALL CHAMPIONS – YEAR 7 SPORT GALA DAY || Today our Year 7 students took to the field at the Kingston Division Gala Day, showing exceptional skill, teamwork and Beauy spirit across Handball, Cricket, Lacrosse and Ultimate Frisbee. A special mention goes to our A and B Ultimate Frisbee teams and our A and C Girls Handball teams who were undefeated! Our Cricket team were runners up and played brilliantly throughout the day. Our Year 7 Boys Handball teams also had a great day, with the A team finishing 4th in their pool and the B team finishing 3rd. Both Lacrosse teams played exceptionally well in a new sport. Amazing efforts by all!

YEAR 7 BASEBALL – STATE FINALS || A massive effort from our Year 7 baseballers at today’s State Finals! They played three huge 80-minute games, winning two out of three and going down by just one run in a tough match. An outstanding result — State Runners Up!

BSC MARKET DAY || Our second group of Year 9 Innovate students put their creativity and entrepreneurial skills to the test today, proudly raising funds for the Cancer Council — their chosen charity. Well done to all involved!

ALMOST $700 RAISED FOR THE CANCER COUNCIL – MARKET DAY SUCCESS || Congratulations to our Year 9 Innovate students who raised $690 for the Cancer Council at yesterday’s Market Day — a great effort, especially with no Year 11 or 12 students on campus. Thank you to everyone who supported the stalls and helped make this event a success.

YEAR 7 MATHS ‘KITE FOR SORE EYES’ PBL || Our Year 7 students have wrapped up their Kite Design PBL, combining creativity with real-world maths! Students designed and built their own kites, calculated areas, classified triangles and completed a series of problem-solving challenges in their showcase tasks. A fantastic effort all round and some very impressive designs!

HAWK COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROJECT || Today our High Abilities Wider Knowledge (HAWK) students visited Pakenham Consolidated School to work with Grade 2 students on creating bee hotels. This hands-on activity helped the younger students learn how they can be more engaged in their own community, while giving our students a meaningful opportunity to connect with another school.

REMEMBERING HOLLY BOWLES 🤍 || Today we pause to remember Holly Bowles, a much-loved former Beaumaris Secondary College student who passed away one year ago. Holly is held dearly in the hearts of our staff and students who knew her — a young person with kindness, warmth and a bright spirit.
We think of Holly’s family and friends today and extend our deepest support as they continue to navigate this loss. Holly remains part of the Beaumaris community and she is remembered with great affection.

KOKODA UPDATE || An enormous first day for our Kokoda team, with a 4.00am wake-up, a flight to Popondetta and a bumpy ride into Kokoda. Heavy rains over the past few days have resulted in plenty of mud and some unexpected river crossings. Despite the challenging conditions, our team has made an amazing start. They are all safe and sound in the village of Deniki and in good spirits, ready to tackle the next leg of this incredible journey.

WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY || Our 2026 College Captain candidates presented their leadership speeches at today’s assembly, showcasing confidence, passion and pride in our school community. Two of our candidates shared their speeches via recording as they are currently on the Kokoda Trek. We heard inspiring words from Principal Stephen Bourbon about recognising the privilege we have in being part of this school and that our gratitude can drive us to make a difference for others and make the most of our opportunities. We also acknowledged recent achievements, including the winners of the Innovate & PBL Expo and mathematics success, which will be featured in this week’s newsletter. Congratulations to all! CHES YEAR 10 ENRICHMENT PRESENTATIONS || Our Year 10 students wrapped up their enrichment electives through the Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES), presenting their final projects with confidence and creativity. A fantastic showcase of critical thinking and hard work — well done, everyone!

ROUNDTABLE WITH BRAD ROWSWELL MP || Our Year 9 and 10 HAWK students welcomed State MP for Sandringham, Brad Rowswell, today to support their research into key youth issues. Students valued the chance to share their ideas and learn more about community advocacy and decision-making.
