In Memory of Holly Bowles

As a community, we continue to hold close the memory of Holly Bowles, who was a valued and much-loved student at Beaumaris Secondary College. It has now been one year since Holly’s passing and her kindness and gentle presence remain strongly felt. We extend our care and support to Holly’s family and friends as anniversaries can be deeply emotional moments. Our thoughts are with all who carry Holly in their hearts and continue to honour her life and the joy she brought to others.

Shoreline Volume II

We proudly launched Shoreline Volume II — our second published anthology of student writing — with a special breakfast event in the MCC on Friday 14 November. The publication showcases the imagination, depth of thought and emerging literary talent of our students.

We were honoured to welcome BSC parent and published author Kerryn Kohl, who spoke about her own writing journey and inspired our young authors to continue nurturing their craft.

I extend my sincere congratulations to all contributing writers and to our Communicate & Relate staff — Sonali Green, Chelsea Salahoras, Travis de Valle and Brendan Cian — for guiding and empowering our students throughout the process.

2026 VCE Information Night

On Thursday 13 November, we welcomed parents and carers of our 2026 Year 10, 11 and 12 students to our VCE Information Night. The evening provided important information about assessment expectations, attendance requirements and key events that will shape our senior students’ experience next year.

We thank all parents and carers who attended for their ongoing partnership which plays a vital role in supporting the success and wellbeing of our senior students.

Year 9 Market Day

Our second group of Year 9 Innovate students demonstrated creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurial thinking through their Market Day initiative on 19 November. Students planned, designed and ran their own market stalls with all proceeds supporting the Cancer Council. A total of $690 was raised, an excellent achievement particularly with a reduced number of students on campus that day. We extend our sincere thanks to the Year 9 teaching team for their support and guidance in bringing this learning experience to life and to all staff and students who supported the stalls to ensure its success.
