Womindjeka Festival

The Womindjeka Festival at Emu Plains (properly called Womindjeka Balnarring Ngargee) is a community cultural festival in Balnarring on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, held at Emu Plains Reserve.

As you are most likely aware our school attended this festival to present their art works. These student masterpieces were inspired by Australian Aboriginal artrists including Bronwyn Bancroft, Melanie Hava, and Merindah Gunya, and the stories of Country explored in Journey of the Iilk.

Our display was impressive! Colourful, eye catching and engaging.

Mrs Roberts (Art teacher) organised a special activity to celebrate country.

'Find your place on the map of Indigenous Victoria and glue a dot where your Country is' . This simple act helps us celebrate the diversity and richness of the lands we belong to and acknowledges the deep connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with Country.

Thank you to all who attended and supported us on the day. A huge shout out to our talented student artist and art teacher for representing our school with so much pride and expertise.

BPS Swimming Stars!

Maya and Alana are representing our  District at the South Peninsula Division Swimming today. The girls gave a great performance. Well done Maya and Alana. Thank you to our parents, Jen and Kristy for supporting and encouraging the girls on the day.

Harmony Day

Last Friday we celebrated Harmony Day. This year's theme is 'Everyone Belongs'. It was great to see our children interacting with each other in such a positive way. Harmony week is about celebrating Australia's rich cultural diversity. The activities that the students engaged in on this day taught the importance of inclusion, recognition of our cultural diversity and provided a deep understanding connection and sense of belonging.

Bittern Birdies Playgroup

It is with great excitement that we have commenced our playgroup sessions at Bittern PS. Every Tuesday at 2pm you are invited to bring along your little person/s and join Nat in engaging and learning based playtime. We have enjoyed our first 2 sessions and look forward to meeting more families in the coming weeks.
