From the 5/6 Classrooms

What a fabulous term it has been for our Grade 5/6 students! Throughout Term One, students have embraced a wide range of opportunities with enthusiasm and positivity. Along the way, new friendships have been formed, challenges have been tackled, memories have been created, and many new skills and concepts have been discovered.

We asked some of our students to share their highlights from Term One, and here is what they had to say:

Hans and Lucas 5/6GTOur Term One highlights are the Parliament Day incursion and Athletics Day.
Olivia and Tema 56/MBMaking it into an Interschool Sport team for the first time has been a highlight. 5/6 Sport has helped us make new Grade Six friends and create stronger bonds with our friends from last year. We can’t wait for more fun sport next term!

Alexander and Gavin 5/6GTThe stick insects arriving in our class and playing together.
Azra and Grace 5/6 GTTerm 1 has been such a good start to Grade 6! One of our favourite highlights was definitely working in the Wellbeing Pillar and helping out the Preps and Grade 1/2 students. We got to help them with their athletics training and we also got to help them in the classroom to support them with their learning, which was actually really fun. Another highlight was Interschool Sports. The girls volleyball team won every single game and we made it all the way to division, which we’re so happy about! We spent most of our snack and lunch breaks at the 5/6 playground playing grounders and sitting on the bars. It’s been a great term and we’re loved being leaders so far.
Ada and Isla 5/6GTOur Term One highlights are getting into the Wellbeing Pillar for leadership. We love taking care of the junior year levels (especially the Preps). We also enjoyed the Parliament Day incursion - it was so much fun doing the role plays as if we were voting and working in parliament (we were the election officials guarding the box!).
Paige and Paris 5/6GTOur highlight of the term has been learning about Democracy. We have really enjoyed this topic because before hand we didn’t know much about it, but now we know lots. We enjoyed the Parliament Day incursion, where we learned how to vote properly. You have to put your first to last preference.

Here are some snaps of our 5/6 Students from the last few weeks.
