The day began with the 100m sprint, where students showed great determination and effort as they raced down the track. They then rotated through field events, including shot put and discus, before finishing the day with long jump.

It was wonderful to see so many students stepping outside their comfort zones, giving new events a try, showing resilience and perseverance. Whether they were running, throwing, or jumping, students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship by cheering each other on and celebrating everyone’s efforts and achievements.

A special highlight of the day was the incredible support from our school community. It was fantastic to see so many parents and family members attend to cheer on our Foundation to Year 2 students. Your encouragement and enthusiasm helped create such a positive and supportive atmosphere for all involved.

Events like this are a great opportunity for students to build confidence, develop new skills, and most importantly, have fun while being active. We are so proud of every student who participated and gave their best effort throughout the day.

Well done to everyone who had a go, we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Drama Toolbox Incursion:

On Tuesday 24th March we had our Drama Toolbox Tiddalik incursion 🎭

Students began by listening to the traditional story of Tiddalik and explored the plot, characters, and key events together. They shared their ideas and discussed what was happening in the story, building their understanding before bringing it to life through drama.

The excitement really began when students had the opportunity to dress up as different characters from the story. They fully embraced their roles, acting out scenes such as drinking from the river, flying and running around, and even pretending to sleep while Tiddalik drank all the water! It was fantastic to see students using their imagination, movement, and expression to retell the story.

To finish the experience, students changed into new costumes and continued acting out the final parts of the story, showing great enthusiasm and creativity as they explored different characters and perspectives.

We had so much fun learning new drama skills and having a go at becoming different animals from the story. It was wonderful to see students building confidence, working together, and expressing themselves in such creative ways.

We hope you all have a safe and relaxing holidays, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone in Term 2!

Kind regards,

Foundation and Year 1/2 Teachers
