Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge 2026
The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge 2026 is officially open, perfect timing for some reading over the term break!
Since the Challenge began in 2005, more than 4.7 million students have read over 66 million books.
The Challenge encourages students to discover the joy of reading, improve their literacy skills and enjoy amazing stories. It gives students a goal to work towards and nurtures a lifelong love of reading.
To complete the Challenge:
Prep to Year 2: Read a total of 30 books, with 20 or more of those books from the Challenge book list
Year 3 to Year 9: Read a total of 15 books, with 10 or more of those books from the Challenge book list
Please encourage and support your children to participate in the Challenge again this year.
Students will receive a certificate from the Premier and 5,000 house points for completing the Challenge and a special lunch to the class with the most student participation and completion. There are 10 badges to be awarded to the first 10 students that complete the Challenge.
