Free Self Defence Classes for 12-25 year olds
Classes are open to young people aged 12–25, with separate sessions available for 12–17 year olds and 18–25 year olds across both days. Each session will run for 90 minutes and will cover practical self-defence techniques, personal safety and de-escalation strategies.

ABC Heywire, is a national storytelling competition for young people aged 16–22 living in regional, rural and remote Australia.
Entries close 1st September, 2026.
We’re looking for honest stories about real experiences. No need to be a polished writer – just have a story worth telling.
Winners receive:
- Their story produced and featured by the ABC.
- An all-expenses-paid trip to the Heywire Regional Youth Innovation Summit in Canberra
