As we move through the middle of Term 3, it has been wonderful to see our students embracing the many learning opportunities and events taking place across the College.
Our P–6 Athletics Day was a tremendous success, with students demonstrating outstanding participation, teamwork and sportsmanship. This was followed by the Waranga Sports Day at P-12 College for our students in Years 3–6, where they proudly represented St Augustine's and should be commended for their effort and enthusiasm throughout the day.
Over the past two weeks, many of our students have participated in ICAS assessments, completing the Writing, Digital Technologies and English competitions. We congratulate all students who have challenged themselves by taking part and wish them the very best with their results.
Our VCEVM students have also commenced their community project at Warramunda, an initiative that provides authentic learning experiences while strengthening community connections. We extend our sincere thanks to the team at Warramunda for partnering with us, and especially to Mel for her ongoing support and guidance of our students.
One of the highlights of last week was our Foundation students celebrating their 100 Days of School. It was fantastic to see the students dressed up and enjoying a day filled with engaging learning activities. A huge congratulations and thank you to our wonderful Foundation teachers and Learning Support Officers for planning and delivering such a memorable day.
Looking ahead, we are excited for St Augustine's Got Talent, which will be held on Wednesday 9th September from 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm. With many outstanding performances already registered, it promises to be a fantastic evening celebrating the diverse talents of our students. We encourage our community to come along and support our performers.
Subject Teacher Conversations are also approaching, and bookings are now open via PAM. These conversations provide an important opportunity for parents and carers to discuss their child's progress and learning with classroom teachers. Conversations will be held on Monday 24th August, with bookings closing at 9.00am next Thursday, 20th August, to allow teachers sufficient time to prepare student data and meaningful discussions.
Finally, National Science Week takes place next week (17th-21st August), and our passionate Science team has organised a range of exciting, hands-on activities for students from Foundation to Year 12. We look forward to seeing our students engage in these experiences and encourage families to keep an eye on our College social media pages for photos and highlights throughout the week.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our College. It is wonderful to see our students learning, growing and making the most of the many opportunities available to them each day.
