History Excursion
On Friday 16th October, a group of Year 9 and Year 10 History students were lucky enough to visit the Immigration Museum and the Shrine of Remembrance. At the Immigration Museum students were able to learn about Australia’s past and how things have changed.
At the Shrine we learnt about the Buchan sandstone in the sanctuary, the Beaufort bomber, what the statues mean at the entrance to the Shrine and many other things. Overall, the students were able to consolidate their learning in these key areas to prepare them for future studies.
Introducing our new Energy Breakthrough bike
We’re excited to officially show off the new bike for the Bairnsdale Secondary College Senior Energy Breakthrough Team!
This year, our team has been working hard behind the scenes to give our team a fresh start. A big part of that has been getting our hands on a new bike that we can develop, improve and race at the 2026 Energy Breakthrough.
This wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support we’ve received from local businesses and our community. Every contribution has helped us get closer to our goals, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has backed us along the way. Another huge thank you to Jon Western for helping us attain this bike from St Arnaud Secondary College. We would not have been able to do it without him!
With a fully student led team, we’re looking forward to taking on new challenges, learning along the way and representing Bairnsdale Secondary College at this year’s event.
We can’t wait to get this bike out on the track. Bring on Energy Breakthrough 2026!
