Dear Bundoora families,

I have the pleasure of writing this newsletter on the deck at Camp ADANAC in Yarra Junction.

The birds are singing, the mist is rising off the water, and the boys are engaged in Gaga Ball and 1:1 soccer. Teachers are drinking coffee on the deck and preparing to wake the other children, ready to pack their bags and vacate the rooms prior to breakfast at 8am.

It has been a delight to be with our year three and four children at camp, enjoying damper cooking, archery, low ropes, abseiling, hut building and a nightwalk and campfire. Roasting marshmallows over the fire was a highlight for all!

Camp has been a wonderful way to wrap up the year with the students. Thank you to our year three/four teachers and staff who have worked tirelessly to make camp exciting and fun for all. Their patience and sense of fun have made camp a great experience for all!

Farewell Class of 2025

On Thursday night we said goodbye to our outgoing year 6 students. Our students are so lucky to have attended our wonderful school, setting them up for a great start to their learning lives.

I’d like to take the time to thank our year five and six teachers and staff members for the amazing graduation experience our students have had, particularly Mrs Amy Armstrong, Mr Meagher, Mrs Nerida Newell, and Mr Jeremy Cass.

Family Carols

Thank you to our Parent and Friends Association for making our Family Carols night such a wonderful community celebration. The event was relaxing, fun and a great way to wrap up the year.

Thank you to those who donated raffle prizes and cakes for the stall, and to those who were able to help on the night.

It was great to see our students performing with enthusiasm and flair.

Camp and general lost property

There are two bags of lost property from camp in the lost property tub, making it full to overflowing. Please take the time to check if anything belongs to your child as the remaining items may be donated at the end of the school year.

Thank you to everyone for a wonderful year at Bundoora Primary School. It has been a great year for our community, and I look forward to another successful year in 2026.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful start to the New Year. Be safe and be kind.

Best wishes,

Sherrin Strathairn
