Grade 3/4 End of Term 4 Newsletter

It has been a truly wonderful year in Grade 3/4, and it is hard to believe that we have reached the end of the term and the school year. The students should be incredibly proud of everything they have achieved, both academically and socially. It has been a joy to watch them grow in confidence, independence and resilience throughout the year.

In Reading, we completed our class novel The Lemonade War, where students worked hard to strengthen their reading comprehension skills. They explored characters, themes and viewpoints, and practised making predictions, inferences and connections to the text. 

In Writing, students developed their persuasive skills by creating persuasive PowerPoint presentations and participating in live debates on a range of engaging topics. They learnt how to structure arguments, use persuasive language, and confidently share their opinions while listening respectfully to others. It was wonderful to see students using strong reasons, emotive language and clear conclusions in their work.

In Mathematics, we spent time reviewing and consolidating a wide range of skills and topics covered throughout the year. Students demonstrated growth in their problem-solving abilities, mathematical reasoning and confidence when tackling both familiar and challenging tasks.

In Discovery, students designed and created their own inventions aimed at improving our school. This project allowed them to think creatively, work collaboratively and apply the design process, while explaining how their inventions could solve real-world problems.

We finished the year with an exciting and memorable camp experience. Camp provided students with opportunities to build independence, strengthen friendships and challenge themselves in new ways. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of the year together.
