International Student Program

It has been a busy and exciting start to the term for our International Student community.
We are delighted to welcome all the new enrolments including our new IELC students from Viewbank College and Reservoir High and our two mainstream students in Year 9 and 10.
Our new IELC and mainstream students, Isaac and Dan enjoyed a fantastic day at Bundoora Farm, where they had the opportunity to bake and enjoy scones, as well as feed cows, goats, sheep, chickens, horses and guinea pigs. They also got to see some of Australia’s native animals, including kangaroos and emus.
The students then finished the day with some friendly competition at ten-pin bowling.
We look forward to many more excursions, giving our students the opportunity to experience Australian life and culture firsthand.
Our Year 12 VCE International Students are busy planning their future pathways with the support of our Future Pathways Leader Ms Morante in the VTAC interviews since week 4. And some students have attended consulation sessions with education agents.
We wish them all the best in the upcoming Unit 4 SACs and final examinations which will be held in October and November.
We look forward to celebrating their achievements at Valedictory. Tickets are now available on Compass.
We have hosted some short term stay students in the first few weeks of term.
In week 1 we hosted a group of students from Hong Kong for two days. Despite these students only being here for a short time, they formed great friendships and experienced what it was like to be a student at the College.
In week 6 we had an additional two international students having a taste of Australian schooling.
Thank you to the lovely student managers and champion student buddies for making this experience for our short stay students such a positive and wonderful one.
