Junior School News – Years 7 & 8

We are now halfway through Term 3, and it has been wonderful to see our Year 7 and 8 students continuing to engage positively in their learning, wellbeing programs and wider school activities.

Year 8 Man Cave and Big Sister Workshops

Our Year 8 students recently participated in the Man Cave and Big Sister Level 2 workshops. These programs provided students with an opportunity to step away from their regular classes and engage in meaningful conversations around wellbeing, relationships, communication and navigating the challenges that can come with adolescence.

Both programs built on students’ previous experiences and encouraged them to reflect on their relationships with themselves and others, develop greater self-awareness, and strengthen their ability to support their peers. It was fantastic to see our students engaging so positively and respectfully throughout the day.

Year 8 Round Robin

On Wednesday 19 August, our Year 8 students participated in the Year 8 Round Robin, competing in basketball, futsal and table tennis.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented the school throughout the day, demonstrating excellent teamwork, sportsmanship and our school values. It was wonderful to see students supporting one another, getting involved and enjoying the opportunity to compete alongside their peers.

Year 8 Camp – 7–9 December

The Year 8 Camp event is now available on Compass, and families can now provide consent and make payment.

This year’s camp will run from Monday 7 December to Wednesday 9 December 2026 and promises to be a fantastic way for our Year 8 students to finish their time in Junior School together.

We strongly encourage families to complete the consent and payment process through Compass when they are able. We understand that camp costs can place additional pressure on families, so please reach out to the school if you would like to discuss arranging a payment plan. We are very happy to work with families to make payments more manageable.

We are already looking forward to a memorable few days with our Year 8 students!

Legally Blonde – The Musical

Excitement is building for our upcoming school musical, Legally Blonde, which will take place in September. Our students and staff have been putting in an incredible amount of effort, with rehearsals well underway as they prepare for what promises to be a fantastic production.

Tickets are selling quickly, so we encourage our Junior School families to secure their tickets and come along to support our talented students. We would love to see as many of our Year 7 and 8 families there as possible!

Junior School Reminders

As we continue through Term 3, we encourage all Year 7 and 8 students to maintain the positive routines that support their learning each day. Students are reminded to:

  • Bring their student planner to every class.
  • Arrive at school and classes on time and ready to learn.
  • Ensure they are wearing the correct school uniform each day and obtain a uniform pass from the Junior School Office when required.
  • Come prepared with the stationery and equipment needed for each of their classes.
  • Continue to demonstrate kindness and respect towards their peers and staff.

Thank you to our students and families for your continued support. We look forward to a positive and productive second half of Term 3!
