Popstars

We are so excited to again be performing at the Civic Theatre in May, presenting the Musical, ‘Popstars, a 90’s Musical’. Students and staff have been hard at work rehearsing, learning lines, and choreographing dance routines, all to the soundtrack of the 90’s.

We have around 190 students involved in all parts of the production, from on stage to dance and backstage, and strongly supported by the staff at the College. It is a wonderful College community event, and the students' enthusiasm and commitment to see the production come to fruition is so amazing to witness.

Synopsis:

It's boyband vs girlband in this hilarious brand new musical with pop smash hits from the hyper-coloured 1990's by artists such as THE SPICE GIRLS, BACKSTREET BOYS, N*SYNC, BRITNEY SPEARS, CHRISTINA AGUILERA, MC HAMMER and many more.

It's set in a school in the 1990's where Mark is head over heels in love with his girlfriend, Queen Bee, Shannon Van de Witt. When Shannon learns that pop-band impresario Simon Austin is the surprise judge at the State Talent Show, she dumps him for her chance at showbiz stardom.

Can Mark get the girl, get the Grand Prize and get even with the scheming Shannon closing in? It’s anyone’s guess as the countdown to the Grand Finale begins.
