Clayfield College Touch Football
The 2026 Touch Football season is officially underway, and we could not be more excited to be your Touch Football Captains this year! We are looking forward to an incredible season filled with a strong sense of team spirit.
Since training began, the energy and commitment from everyone has been fantastic to see. Whether you are an experienced Club player or pulling on the Green, Gold and Blue jersey for the very first time, it is great to have you involved. We encourage as many of you as possible to attend trainings and upcoming games as these are the moments where we come together, push each other and grow stronger as a team. It is the perfect opportunity to build fitness and gain confidence heading into competition.
Friday night QGSSSA games have already highlighted the talent and teamwork across our squads and you should all be proud of the great things we are achieving together.
A special mention must go to the boys’ touch team, who went undefeated all the way to the grand final. They showed incredible sportsmanship right until the final whistle. We are so proud of everything they achieved this season, and we can not wait to see what they accomplish next year.
With the final games approaching, now is the time to build momentum. Stay committed, keep challenging yourselves and each other, and most importantly, enjoy every moment on and off the field. This season is shaping up to be something special, and we are excited to see what our Clayfield Touch Football teams can accomplish together.
Well done everyone, let’s keep showing up and running strong as one team!
QGSSSA Gymnastics Wrap Up
The QGSSSA Gymnastics team delivered an outstanding performance at the competition held on 31 March, achieving one of the school’s most successful results in recent years. Every squad rose to the occasion with both skill and determination and displayed strong team spirit across all levels.
The highlight of the day came from the Year 7 team, who claimed First place, a remarkable achievement and the first time in 10 years this has been accomplished. Their routines were performed with confidence and precision, setting the tone for the rest of the competition.
Success continued across the grades, with D Grade securing an impressive Second place, while C Grade, B Grade, and A Grade each dominated their divisions to take out First place. The momentum carried through to the Open team, who capped off the event with another First place finish, reinforcing the team’s strength at the highest level.
Overall, it was a phenomenal day for the gymnastics program, with athletes demonstrating dedication, resilience and excellence in every performance. Congratulations to all the girls who competed and thank you to all the spectators whose electric support made this such an incredible event. We hope you are all very proud of yourself, and we are so thrilled to finish the gymnastics season with this result!
BBI Basketball Wrap Up
The past basketball season was one to not forget. With all of us boys playing in U18 for the first time, we did not know what to expect. We started off the season perfectly by going undefeated. With only one loss in the regular season, we got through to the semi-finals. This was so important to all of us. Without teamwork and dedication from all our players, we would not have made it here.
We played against the third team on the table. A tight game until the end but we came off with the win, taking Clayfield Boys to the finals for the first time ever.
Game day of the finals, we were all ready to try our all. Losing in overtime by two points was not an easy loss to take, but all the boys kept their heads high, wore our runners up medals proudly and looked forward to next season.
A big thank you to our coaches and especially Mitch who left at the end of last term, we wish you all the best in NSW. Go Crocs!
