Boarding Bulletin

A Place of Belonging
Our boarders are unpacked and settled in for the term with lots of stories of exciting holiday adventures.
We are fortunate in boarding to return each term to thoughtful gifts from the Principal’s Office. This term, Dr Cousins and his wonderful Executive Assistant, Mary Berman, gifted woolly socks for the cooler months ahead, sweet treats, and some valuable items for the boys’ new common space. Thank you, our boarders truly appreciate these homely touches when they are away from their families.
Welcome to four new boarders and their families: Howard (Year 9) and Angelina (Year 10), who have lived with us while attending Langports English Language College and have now commenced at the school, as well as Mia (Year 8) and Sophie (Year 10).
As we near the end of our first week, we are seeing signs of homesickness. This is very common for the first few weeks away from home. Please always stay optimistic and positive about boarding with your child and always tell them how proud you are of them with their ability to cope away from their loved ones and home. If your child continues to struggle, please encourage them to approach staff. We have an amazing pastoral care team at school and in boarding, who are here to support them in their new journey.
