A Powerful Connection to Country

We were incredibly fortunate to have Ian Waina, a traditional owner from the Kimberley region, Georgia Saunders 15 Mile creek camp visit and yarn with our students recently. Ian and Georgia shared powerful insights about the upcoming Kimberley camp, giving everyone a glimpse into what promises to be a life-changing experience.

Listening to Ian speak about his deep connection to country was a reminder of the rich history, culture, and stories embedded in the Kimberley landscape. For our students, this wasn't just a presentation, it was the beginning of a meaningful journey.

The upcoming camp in July offers a rare and amazing opportunity for our students to step onto country, breathe in the history of the land, and engage directly with Elders from the Kimberley region. Learning directly from First Nations custodians on their own land is a privilege that will undoubtedly stay with our students for the rest of their lives.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Ian for his time, his stories, and his warmth. The countdown to the July camp is officially on, with applications to next years camp being available in October 2026.

We can’t wait to see our students immerse themselves in this incredible experience!
