Term 3 Update
Hello Students, Families, and Staff,
Welcome back to Term 3! We hope you all had a restful two-week break. The Music Department has an incredibly busy and exciting term ahead, so we are hitting the ground running. Please read through the important updates, reminders, and upcoming event details below.
🎼 Instrumental Music & Band Lessons
Lesson Timetables: Hard copies of the individual lesson timetables are complete and posted on the PAC pinboard. Please check these so you know your times . (Note: We are experiencing technical issues with Compass, but physical timetables are accurate).
Band Timetables: These are successfully on Compass.
Absences: Please notify us immediately if you cannot attend a scheduled lesson or band rehearsal.
Carlia’s Students: There will be no lessons this week as Carlia is moving house. Lessons will resume as normal next week.
🎙️ Kool Skools Project (All Students Welcome!)
We're heading back to the studio! We're locked in for the Kool Skools recording project in early September (Week 8)!
Musicians & Songwriters: If you are a budding or experienced songwriter, get writing! We will be seeking audition audio recordings soon to secure a coveted spot on the school album. Cover songs are welcome, but original tracks are highly encouraged.
Creative Crews (Non-Musical): If you want to be part of the album artwork, graphic design, or photography team, please drop into the PAC to see Mr. Adorni.
More detailed information will be sent out over the coming weeks!
❄️ Mid-Winter Concert – Thursday, July 30th
Come along and support our incredible musicians at our annual Mid-Winter Concert!
Venue: School Performing Arts Centre (PAC)
Time: Doors open at 6:30 PM for a 7:00 PM start
Highlights: This evening features the official debut performance of our Beginner Band, alongside showcases from our talented Concert and Stage bands.
Entry: All welcome! There will be live music, a raffle, and fantastic entertainment.
🚌 Concert Band Tour (First Week of August)
Our Concert Band is heading off on tour very soon!
Action Required: Permission forms, payment, and Go-Karting Indemnity Forms have been emailed home. Please ensure these are completed ASAP so your child doesn't miss out.

🎺 NEVR Ensemble Day – Thursday, August 20th
Now in its third year, the Northeast Victoria Region (NEVR) Ensemble Day is back. This fantastic event hosts public high school music programs from across the region. Both our Symphonic Band and Stage Band will be performing this year. More details will be posted to Compass closer to the date.

As a reminder, all after-school rehearsals include a 10-minute snack break provided by the Music Department!

📌 Quick Rehearsal Reminders:
Phones: Must be put away during all rehearsals (even during after-school sessions).
Hydration: Please remember to bring a drink bottle to every rehearsal!
