 Darcy Vescio Medal Caps Outstanding Team Effort

 

Our Year 9 and 10 Girls Football team proudly represented Wangaratta High School at the School Sport Victoria Upper Hume Carnival at the end of Term 2, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of our 1996 Senior Girls State Championship.

 

Year 9 Vice Captain Mia Simpson was outstanding, claiming her fourth Darcy Vescio Medal in just three years as our best player. Fellow Vice Captain Bella Boulton impressed through the midfield, using her pace to drive the team forward and hit the scoreboard.

 

Amelia Reid-Midson and Tarni White were recognised for their fierce tackling, while Year 10 Co-Captains Tahlia Houston and Taylah Wyatt led the team with positivity and determination.

 

Despite missing several experienced players, the girls embraced the opportunity, showed great resilience, and represented Wangaratta High School with pride.
