Upper Hume Carnival
Ashton Ryan delivered a phenomenal performance at the School Sport Victoria Upper Hume Junior Girls Football Carnival, collecting an incredible 54 possessions in just 60 minutes of football. The Year 8 Captain finished with 41 kicks, 13 handballs, 10 tackles, 13 inside 50s and 6 clearances to claim the Darcy Vescio Medal as Wangaratta High School's best player.
Year 7 Hazel Sutherland was also outstanding, gathering 35 possessions, 11 tackles, 7 inside 50s and 4 clearances, while Co-Captain Lexi Hayward starred in the ruck with a goal.
Strong contributions also came from Macy Boschetti (16 possessions, 1 goal), Evie Fisher (15), Ava Penney (12, 1 goal) and Peyton Robinson (10).
The team finished with a 1-1 record, defeating Wodonga Middle Years by 13 points before falling to eventual champions Catholic College Wodonga.
