Assistant Principal Message

As we reach the end of another incredible term of learning, growth, and success at the College, it is timely to reflect on the vibrant spirit of our faith community. In particular, it is worth rewinding a couple of weeks to celebrate a number of extraordinary Music Ministry experiences.
Music Ministry - Gen Bryant
During week 6 the College hosted Gen Bryant and Chris Solo, who shared their talents over three full day workshops. Monday’s workshop was devoted to our Musicians and Singers from Years 7-12. Students learnt a number of new songs we are looking forward to sharing during our future liturgies and school events. Tuesday’s workshop focused on Youth Ministry, as our KCC Youth team engaged in a day of exploring their own personal formation and the opportunities they have to support the journey of others. Wednesday's “Wavemakers” workshop served as a community day for our Year 10 students. With a focus on leadership and faith in action, Gen and Chris engaged with students throughout the day in interactive sessions of story telling, conversation and expression. The intention of the community day was for students to come together and experience faith formation inspired by conversation and dialogue, connecting with their peers as they move out of Year 10 and into the HSC years.
Launching Spiritus 2027
The momentum continued into Thursday of Week 6 with a special visit from the Diocese of Lismore's "Wildfire" team. Wildfire travelled to Wagga as part of the “Day in the Diocese Event” and during their stop over at Kildare they shared their personal formation journeys with our Year 9 students, while officially launching our Spiritus formation plans for 2027.
Students in Year 9 will have the opportunity to join the Spiritus class in 2027. Spiritus is a system initiative coordinated across the five CEDWW high schools. The Spiritus pathway provides a genuine opportunity for students to engage in formation, leadership, service learning and evangelisation. It is an exciting development for our community, offering a comprehensive approach to nurturing the spiritual, moral, and communal lives of our young people within our Church.
Lines of Communication
We believe that the best way to support our students is through a strong and clear partnership between school and home. With this in mind, it is timely to remind parents and caregivers of our College’s preferred lines of communication.
Clear guidance has been developed regarding who to contact for matters relating to Academic Care, Wellbeing, Mission, Finance, WHS, and Co-Curricular activities (such as sport, music, and excursions). You can easily access the Lines of Communication document via the Favourites icon within the Compass app (See screenshots below). We encourage you to review this guide to ensure inquiries are directed to the correct staff member, allowing us to support your child as efficiently as possible.
All the best for the holiday break. I sincerely hope it is a restful and renewing time for our students, their families, and our hardworking staff. Thank you for your continued partnership this term.
See you in Term 4!
