The final weekend of winter sport has arrived, and what an incredible season it has been at SPC. Across Rugby, Tennis and Football, our students have represented the College with tremendous pride, commitment and enthusiasm — and there is still plenty to play for!

Rugby Union Grand Finals

Our rugby teams finished their seasons with two teams competing in grand finals, with both sides giving everything they had on the big stage.

The 14 A Rugby team took on Oakhill College in a tight contest, eventually going down 7–14. It was a hard-fought game, with the boys battling right to the final whistle. Congratulations to the 14 A team on a fantastic season and on making it all the way to the grand final.

Our 16 A Rugby Team faced a very strong St Augustine’s College side, going down 7–36. While the result didn't go our way, reaching the grand final is a fantastic achievement and the boys should be extremely proud of their season.

A huge congratulations to both teams, their coaches and all the families who supported them throughout the year.

Tennis Grand Finals

There was also plenty of excitement on the tennis courts, with Division 2, 3 and 4 playing in grand finals against Oakhill College.

A massive congratulations to our Division 4 team, who were crowned Premiers beating Oakhill College 5-0.

The team put together an outstanding season and finished it in the best possible way. Congratulations to all of the players and coaches on a fantastic achievement.

Our Division 2 and Division 3 teams were also involved in incredibly close grand finals. While both narrowly missed out on the premiership, they can be extremely proud of the way they competed and the standard of tennis they produced throughout the season.

Well done to all of our tennis teams!

18 Football Teams in the Grand Finals

This weekend marks the final weekend of winter sport, and we couldn't have asked for a bigger finish.

Across the ISA Football Competition, there are 22 grand finals being played this weekend — and SPC will have 18 teams playing in 16 grand finals!

16 out of 22 Grand Finals.

That is an outstanding achievement and something the entire College community should be incredibly proud of.

Our 18 grand finalists are:

  • First XI, Second XI, Fifth XI, Fourth XI

  • 16 A, 16 B, 16 C, 16 D

  • 15 A, 15 D, 15 E

  • 14 A, 14 C, 14 D

  • 13 A, 13 C, 13 D, 13 E.

Every one of these teams has earned their place in the grand final, and now they have one final opportunity to finish their season on top.

All football grand finals will be played at the Macquarie University Playing Fields, and we want to see Blue, Black and Gold everywhere!

Bring your family. Bring your mates. Bring the College spirit.

Get along to Macquarie University, cheer loudly, support our teams and help create an atmosphere our players will remember.

After months of training, Saturday fixtures, long trips, wins, losses and plenty of hard work, this is what it's all about.

Let's get behind the boys and finish the winter season in style!
