Year 6 Leadership

Sports Team
Hello, we are the Sports Team.
Last week, the whole school (except the Year 4s) visited Carnegie Swimming Pool. The Grade 6s completed lifesaving lessons in the pool, where we learnt important water safety skills and practised different survival swimming strokes. The Prep, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 students all took part in swimming lessons. Even though the outdoor pool was very cold for the Grade 6s, we all had lots of fun!
During Wellbeing Week, we also had an exciting dance-off competition in our house colours: Yellow, Blue and Red! The theme was Michael Jackson and everyone wore a touch of MJ along with their house colours. We split into our house teams and worked together to learn our dances. Each team performed a different Michael Jackson song using Just Dance. Miss Payne was our judge and the Red Team took first place! It was a fantastic day and everyone had so much fun!

Social Justice
The Year 6s recently went on a school trip to Sacred Heart Aged Care. We started our trip by catching the bus to visit the residents. It was lovely to reconnect with everyone and take part in some fun activities together.
Some of the activities included a sing-along with a guitar, played by one of the nurses, and drawing portraits of the residents while they modelled for us. We also enjoyed a delicious afternoon treat of fizzy drinks and biscuits.
Everyone had a fantastic time and we can't wait to visit again in September!
