Principal's Report

A message from the Principal

Term 1 has been an incredibly positive, focused and rewarding start to the year at Reservoir High School.

Upon our return staff were immersed in two full days of professional learning, as we continue to build a strong culture of ongoing improvement. The theme for this year is “Maintaining Momentum” where as a learning community, we will build upon the strengths of the school and the improvements made over recent years. This will ensure every student at our school thrives and achieves success, both as a learner and as a person.

Our students returned with a renewed focus on learning and our senior learners have shown impressive commitment and dedication to their studies.

It has been a joy to welcome our new Year 7 students and their families to Reservoir High School. They have very quickly become connected to the staff and other students at our school.

The Year 7 Camp held in week 3 was a fantastic opportunity for our year 7’s to make friends across the year level, engage with their teachers in outdoor activities and games and most importantly, have fun. The Year 7 Parent BBQ, which took place last night, was a delightful evening with most of our Year 7 parents and students attending. Parents, students and staff were able to mingle, get to know one another and establish new partnerships.

The Fair Go Sports Carnival which took place last Friday was a true celebration of everything that makes Reservoir High School an inclusive, compassionate and supportive community.  Our students who competed in the different events demonstrated athletic skill and strength and many others cheered and supported the competitors.

Our whole-school Badges Assembly is taking place in week 8 of this term and is an opportunity for us to celebrate student achievement and leadership. Parents of the students selected for Leadership positions will be invited, as have our VCE High-Achievers from last year. It will be a wonderful way to finish up the term, one that has been characterised by excellence.
