News from 3/4

Welcome!
This week, we welcomed another new student to our class. Adera has already impressed us with his gentle, friendly nature and his commitment to striving for excellence in all that he does.
Hooptime
Hooptime for 3/4s is scheduled for Tuesday 18th August. Notices have been published via nForma. This is an optional excursion which caters for experienced players as well as 'rookie' players that haven't played before but would like to have a go.
First Contacts
This term students will learn about the lives of First Nations Australians before the British settlers arrived in Australia and the causes and reasons for the journey of the HMB Endeavour and The First Fleet. They will practise thinking and acting like historians as they are immersed in stories and artefacts to learn more about Australia's history from different perspectives.
We started by investigating the First Nations people who have lived in this land for 65 000 years. We looked at different tools that were used and the importance of elders in passing down wisdom. After a brief interruption to recognise the Commonwealth Games, we will explore some Dreamtime stories. This will fit in perfectly with our St Joseph's Naidoc week.
