Debating Update

Debating had a fantastic year in 2025, with students involved across Years 7–12. A huge congratulations to our Year 11 team  (Zadie, Emile, Ella S, Toby, Heidi and Ella P), who made it all the way to the State Semi-Finals and were the only non-selective government school to do so. Our Year 8 team (Elise, Anika and Tilda) had an outstanding undefeated season. It was also wonderful to see so many Year 7 students debate for the first time. It was particularly impressive to see how well many of the Year 7s showed resilience - when you lost a train of thought, so many of you paused, took a breath and kept going. Hopefully you will all continue your debating journeys together and keep developing new skills in communication, teamwork and critical thinking.
