Year 9 Leaders

In week 4, fourteen of our Year 9 student leaders recently took part in the Social Innovators Program, a two-day workshop delivered by Crazy Ideas College at the Ballarat Tech School.

The Social Innovators Program empowers young people aged 15–18 years to tackle real community, environmental and social challenges using innovative thinking. Across the two days, students explored human-centred design principles, developed problem-solving frameworks, built prototypes and refined their pitching skills. Working collaboratively, they identified authentic local issues and began designing practical, creative solutions.

A highlight of the experience was connecting with local mentors who provided guidance and feedback, helping students strengthen their ideas and consider how they could be implemented in the real world.

Our students represented the school with enthusiasm, maturity and initiative. They embraced the challenge of thinking differently, stepping outside their comfort zones and working as a team to bring their ideas to life.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment to leadership and their willingness to make a positive impact in our community.  A huge thank you goes to the Crazy Ideas College as well as the Ballarat Tech School (and partners) for making this possible for our students.
