Junior students have started Term 2 with renewed energy and enthusiasm. All subjects are organising CAT tasks, with students working hard to do their best and demonstrate their learning.
The IMPACT program this term has focused on Celebrating achievements from Term 1 and the cultural diversity that is present in all RHS classrooms. Students have made unique sections representing their culture and interests which have been combined to create class Diversity Quilts. These are proudly displayed on the wall of IMPACT classrooms. It has been amazing to watch, as students proudly displayed and discussed their respective cultures.
A select group of Year 8 Students has been participating in the RAISE mentoring program every Thursday. This program involves volunteers from the community spending time sharing with and supporting RHS students.

Our Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander students went to Barrbunin Beek Gathering Place in Heidelberg in week 3. They joined students from other local schools in a smoking ceremony and traditional games, including throwing a hunting Boomerang and Marngrook. Thanks to Tom Jackson for organising.
Year 8 students have been working on their Career Action Plans in IMPACT as well as researching possible jobs and careers. Career Action Plans are reviewed every year, as student interests change and, thus, how they plan their Educational Pathways.
It has been amazing to see the Junior Students getting involved in school activities, from Student Representative Council to Rock of Ages to Dance Academy to Lunch Time Clubs.

Interschool sports are also in full swing, with Division Cross Country, AFL, Soccer and Badminton this term.

Uniform Reminder – As the weather gets colder we remind students that beanies and hoodies are not part of the uniform and should not be worn to school.
Year 7 – Student Engagement Coordinator Report - Mr Friend
Year 7 Students at Reservoir High School have made an impressive start to Term 2. While the days continue to get shorter and the weather colder, our students continue to remain focused and engaged in their learning. Currently, in Year 7 Humanities, students are investigating the Ancient World, including the features of Ancient Egypt and Ancient Australia. In Science, students are learning about forces and completing a project testing different materials, to assess friction. Students in Year 7 continue to accumulate Quick Praise points and we have had many students over the last few weeks redeem these points for Canteen vouchers.
Well done Year 7s and keep up the great work!
