Child Safety
Sofia Vearing

Monivae College holds a deep moral, legal and mission-driven responsibility to create safe, nurturing and culturally supportive learning environments for all children and young people.

The PROTECT framework assists school staff to identify and respond to child abuse, and to connect students and their families to the right supports at the right time.
PROTECT resources have recently been refreshed, providing clearer advice for staff, including pathways advising when to support, refer, and when to report. Staff reporting obligations remain unchanged, and all school staff continue to complete child safety and mandatory reporting training annually.
Students may notice new PROTECT posters displayed around the school, which affirm our commitment to child safety and encourage them to speak to a trusted staff member or adult if they have any concerns about their safety.
For more information, or to view the new suite of posters, please visit the Department of Education PROTECT page or contact me directly svearing@monivae.vic.edu.au
